Mukachiv district is one of the most charming districts of Transcarpathian. Forest, wonderful mountains, curativ air full of  fragrance of centennial fur trees and foliage trees, pure rivers make this district one of the most attractive corners of Transcarpathian. Mukachiv district  is situated in western part of Transcarpathian region.

Territorially it occupies the most favowrite positions among other districts of the region.  In the past there were ancient trade ways, which in historical documents are known as «Big Slavic way». Today on  the territory of district pass highway of international significance Kyiv-Uzhgorod, which construction and change into fifth transenropean corridor of transeuropean corridor of  international significance Trieist-Lviv and international railway line Kyiv – Chop, which connect Ukraine with West Europe. The most part of the district territory is mountainous the northern part of the territory is mountainous. The northern part of the territory is wrrounded by mountainous pastures, which are the parts of Volcanic Carpathian with the  highest peak Dunavka (1018,8 m), mountain range Makovitsia, Syniak, Plishka and ets.

The territory of district is inhabited by  the reprisentatives of more then 30 nationalities, among which are Ukrainians, Hungarians, Russians, Jypsies, Germans ets.

Mukachiv district has powerful system of sanatorium and hotel establishments which can  accept nearly 2000 persons in summer seasons and nearly 1500 persons in winter. These are the famoussanatorium «Karpaty»,«Pearl of Karpaty», «Soleni Mlaky», «Syniak», sanitation camps «Vodograi», «Karpaty» of LvivNational University, «Karpaty» in village Brestiv, «Bilochka», «Yunist» and hotel establishment «Carpathian hunter».Who are eager to take possession of skills in arrange rope road «Turbo-2000» with the length of 400 m. near sanitation camp «Vodograi». It is known that Mukachiv district is famous for its wines. Especially it is popular table wines.
